This is the new committee for the Mothers’ Union. I’m sure you know all the faces, but, from the left, we have:
Carolynne Sorrell, (Branch Leader), Linda Scott, Mary Solley, (Deputy Branch Leader), Lizanne MacKenzie, (Secretary), Margaret Bone, Kim Tofield, (Treasurer) and, in front, Getsy Ratnam and Jenny Lawson. [Absent from photo: Glenys Cullen, Linda King]
To go with the photos (below) of our visit to the Veterans’ Garden:
We had a delightful visit to the Veterans’ Garden in September and had a tour of their various projects, a well stocked veggie garden, a Contemplative Garden, a children’s Play Area, a Memorial Garden and several pens of chickens and ducks. The garden is a refuge for veterans of the Armed Services and also the Police, Fire Service and the NHS, where they can find like minded people and quiet corners to repair their mental and physical health. It is a quiet but busy place and we were treated to scrumptious tea and cream cakes baked by a father who lost his son in Afghanistan. This is a thoughtful project bringing comfort to veterans and their families and we much enjoyed our visit.
