In response to the Prime Minister’s call for a minute’s silence this Friday, Maxwelltown West, Church of Scotland will open its doors for people to come and spend some time in quiet reflection and prayer, for those affected by the tragic shooting in Tunisia. The church, at Laurieknowe, opens from 11.30am and will mark the national silence at noon.

“Everyone is welcome to find a place of quiet and peace interspersed with readings and prayers. It’s a fitting way to remember the 38 individuals murdered in the terrorist attack on 26th June, and to mark the minute’s silence,” says event organiser Max West Minister, Revd. Dave Sutherland.
