Fairtrade

St. John’s is registered with the Fairtrade Foundation ( www.fairtrade.org.uk ) as a Fairtrade Church.

To qualify for Fairtrade status we agreed:

  • to serve fairtrade tea & coffee at our meetings
  • to encourage the use of other fairtrade products
  • to promote fairtrade, particularly during Fairtrade Fortnight

Our Church is represented on the Dumfries Fairtrade Group which is working towards Fairtrade Town status for Dumfries.

On the first Sunday of each month there is a fair trade stall in the church hall which is open before and after the 11am service. The goods available are mostly food items from Traidcraft, ( www.traidcraft.co.uk ) and Eswatini Preserves supplied by The Coach House, Balmore, Glasgow ( www.balmoretrust.org.uk ).

Our Fairtrade organiser is Sandra Watson and you can email her through our Contacts page.
